Are prices really down in the Greater Toronto Area?
The stats are in for May. Inventory, while still historically low, is up dramatically +42.9%. More inventories mean more choice. More choice means moderating prices and maybe you didn't have to compete to buy that once rare home. (Still not in very neighbourhood)
Only 10,196 homes sold in May 2017. That is down a significant -26.3% from the 12,790 homes that sold in May of 2016. Inventory is up, volume is down. What happened to prices?
Actually down -6.2% from April. Yet that is not the complete story. I did say last month that you should expect prices to moderate. But have they?
